Accreditation & Academics

St. Mary's Catholic School is a parish school within the Diocese of Arlington, operating under the auspices of the Office of Catholic Schools.  We are accredited through the Virginia Catholic Education Association.

Our school educates the whole child by promoting spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical development in a nurturing, Catholic setting.  We challenge each student to attain their fullest potential while developing a true sense of self-esteem founded in a solid Catholic curriculum.

The curriculum at St. Mary's is designed and outlined by the Diocese of Arlington Office of Catholic Schools.  The curriculum is comprehensive and challenging.  We have made the curriculum guidelines available to you here, along with additional information about instructional programs integrated into the curriculum.

In 2009, St. Mary's Catholic School was honored as one of 314 schools nationwide that received the Blue Ribbon School designation. The nationally-funded Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors schools that are models of excellence, that demonstrate a strong commitment to educational excellence for all students, and that achieve high academic standards. The program is part of a larger Department of Education effort to identify and disseminate knowledge about best school leadership and teaching practices.
