Catechist - Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Part-Time)
Position HR Classification: 10-months

Hours: 20-24 Hours per week while school is in session
Overview of the Position
The Basilica School of Saint Mary, a Catholic Pre-K through eight Parish School in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking a qualified teacher to serve as a teacher for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for the 2024-2025 School year. The Basilica School is progressively developing an Atrium and will expand instruction from our Pre-K program to the Kindergarten class. The Catechist will work closely with the Kindergarten team and with our Director of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program. The Catechist will be committed to offering excellence in our youngest students' intellectual, spiritual, and character formation. This is an excellent opportunity to build a program with a supportive team. Job Description |
The Basilica School of Saint Mary seeks a teacher of Middle School English Literature, Language Arts, and English Department Chair for the 2025-26 School Year. The Basilica School of Saint Mary, a Catholic Pre-K through eighth grade Parish School in Alexandria, Virginia, seeks an English Literature and Language teacher for the Middle School grades and English Department Chair for the 2025-26 school year. The English teacher will work closely with the middle school team in a highly collaborative manner and be committed to offering excellence in student intellectual, spiritual, and character formation. The Department Chair will coordinate the literature studies and writing program for grades five through eight, collaborating with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in and passion for English literature and writing, with an ability to engage students in a love for reading and literary analysis. Extended Care Staff
Position HR Classification: 10 months
Supervisor and Direct Report: Extended Care Director
Hours: Mon-Friday 3:00 pm-6:00 pm, flexible day options available
The Basilica School of Saint Mary, a Catholic Pre-K through eight Parish School in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking after-school staff for Extended Care Program working with the middle school and elementary grade for the 2024-2025 school year. The staff member will work as a team, in a highly collaborative manner. The staff member will manage a variety of activities including indoor and outdoor play. Qualified candidates will fully embrace the mission of our Catholic school, which recognizes the infinite value of each student, seeks to develop the gifts of all, and nurtures them to be saints, stewards, and scholars. Ideal candidates will have childcare experience, an understanding of child development, and an interest in providing a happy after-school experience.
The afterschool program requires that you love God, His Children, and their joyful voices! We are in beautiful Old Town Alexandria, VA, Diocese of Arlington. An hourly wage of $18 to start. Will consider 3 days a week for those unable to commit to 5 days

Facilities Technician
The Basilica School of Saint Mary seeks a qualified Facilities Technician. The ideal candidate has excellent general maintenance skills, is a self-starter, can work independently or as a team, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills with others in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, weekends as needed.
Hourly: $30-35 depending on experience
Position Overview:
The qualified candidate will provide service maintenance and repairs, troubleshooting diagnostics, and repairs to commercial buildings. The successful candidate will have excellent working knowledge and references of the following responsibilities and tasks, including but not limited to:
● Minor Drywall repair
● Minor Electrical
● Minor HVAC
● Minor plumbing
● Janitorial
● Moving furniture
● Set up / break down for events
● Be familiar with fire systems and panels
Requirements:
