Purple Star Training

Last Wednesday, April 29, our faculty and administrative team gathered for a meaningful professional development session focused on Purple Star training. Led by Mr. Daniel Dunham, the session equipped our educators and staff with practical tools and greater awareness to better support military students and families within our school community.

The training emphasized the unique experiences of military families, including frequent moves, transitions, and the emotional challenges that can accompany deployments. A key takeaway was the important role Catholic education plays in providing consistency, stability, and a strong sense of belonging for students whose lives often include change and uncertainty.

Throughout the session, several faculty members also shared personal insights and experiences working with military families, offering valuable perspectives on how schools can intentionally foster warmth, understanding, and connection. These conversations reinforced our shared commitment to ensure that every military child feels seen, supported, and at home in our classrooms.

As we continue our Purple Star designation journey, our faculty and administration remain dedicated to strengthening partnerships with military families and cultivating a school environment rooted in compassion, faith, and community.
