At The Basilica School of Saint Mary, our Pre-Kindergarten program welcomes 4-year-olds into a child-centered, play-based classroom designed to nurture the whole child. By blending traditional hands-on learning with the Montessori-based Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, we foster curiosity, creativity, and a deep connection to the Catholic faith. We offer two Full-Day classes and one Half-Day class for our families.

Play-Based Learning
Our play-based approach supports your child's growth through prayer, problem-solving, socialization, imaginary play, and emergent reading and writing. Children explore the world through sensory-rich experiences in a nurturing environment.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
In our specially prepared Atrium, children participate in weekly sessions, using hands-on materials to explore Catholic traditions. This Montessori-based program nurtures a child's personal relationship with our faith.
Kindergarten Readiness
Our age-appropriate curriculum emphasizes skills such as creativity, independent problem solving, and respect for the natural world, ensuring your child is ready for their next steps.

The PreK at St Mary’s is a special place! Our son has been able to learn daily and have fun while doing so through engaging and interesting lessons and projects. Every week, he looks forward to going to the Atrium for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This program embodies a calming, spiritual experience perfect for this age. Our son has flourished not only academically, but spiritually as well.
