Miss Josie Carlton
Kindergarten Instructional Aide
Miss Carlton is partnering with our Kindergarten faculty as an Instructional Aide. She is a student at Grand Canyon University. She enjoys reading, spending time with animals and people, listening to music, being outdoors and going on hikes. In her free time she practices piano and loves to walk around in Old Town Alexandria.
Ms. Kaitlinn Enriquez
Resource Teacher
Ms. Enriquez is excited to be working as a new member of the Learning Support Services Team in the Resource Center! She recently graduated from UVA with her Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Enriquez has been teaching for a few years in a variety of roles including a recent position as an Art Teacher which she thoroughly enjoyed. She looks forward to getting to know her students and our community. Here’s to new adventures.
Miss Sarah Gallahan
First Grade Instructional Aide
Miss Gallahan joins our first grade as an Instructional Aide. She is a recent graduate from Susquehanna University, where she earned an Educational Studies degree and was a member of the soccer and swimming teams. When not at The Basilica School of Saint Mary, Miss Gallahan enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and dog, Gunner. She is "looking forward to an amazing school year!"
Mrs. Jennelle Hoffman
Second Grade Instructional Aide
Mrs. Jennelle Hoffman joins the 2nd grade teaching team as an Instructional Aide. She attended Towson University in Maryland and graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Science. She worked as a Naturalist for Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, leading students on field trips through Gwynns Falls Trail and Leakin Park. Mrs. Hoffmann also used her Geographic Information System skills to create FEMA floodplain maps. Most recently, she has volunteered for the Basilica's apostolates, leading the playgroup and providing childcare for women in Walking with Purpose. She hopes to use all of these skills to support our teachers. Most of all she will remember the words of Jesus to Saint Faustina, "Jesus, I trust in You."
Ms. Mary Hunt
First Grade Teacher
Ms. Hunt is excited to be back home in Alexandria in Saint Mary's Parish. She will be joining the faculty as a first grade teacher. Since graduating from Indiana University in Bloomington, she has had many interesting and varied teaching experiences from PreKindergarten to Middle School. For the past six years she has been in a managerial position in private industry and looks forward to returning to the classroom to share her Catholic faith, knowledge, and talents.
Mrs. Pam Jennison
Prekindergarten Teacher
Mrs. Jennison is starting our new Full Day Prekindergarten Program. She has been teaching for 20 years in the Early and Elementary grades. Mrs. Jennison graduated from Bishop O’Connell High School and Radford University. She has three children, two step-children and two grandchildren. Mrs. Jennison loves the beach, sunflowers and being with her family. Mrs. Jennison taught Pre K at The Basilica School of Saint Mary nine years ago and is happy to be returning to the same position.
Mrs. Christina Lindh
Enrollment Coordinator
Mrs. Lindh joins our staff as the Enrollment Coordinator. She previously was the New Family Committee Co-chair and a Pre-K teacher at St. Aidan's. Mrs. Lindh holds a B.A. in Secondary Education from Elon University. Her husband is active military and they are parents to Penny and Tripp. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Ms. Allyson Markussen
Counselor
Ms. Markussen is an alumna of The Basilica School ('08) and is excited to return to the Saints family as part of the school counseling team. She attended Saint Joseph's University for her bachelor's degree (Go Hawks!) and went on to complete her M.A. in School Counseling and Ed.S. in Professional Counseling from Seton Hall University. She is also a child and adolescent therapist. In her free time, she enjoys figure skating, playing tennis, reading, and walking her very energetic golden retriever. She looks forward to meeting you all!
Mrs. Monica McDonald
Director Learning Support Services
Mrs. McDonald joins The Basilica School of Saint Mary as the Director of Learning Support Services. She has a master’s degree from George Washington University in Early Childhood Special Education, and is working toward her Masters in Administration and Supervision from UVA. Previously, she taught special education in Fairfax County Public Schools and was an Autism Specialist for Alexandria City Public Schools and the Hawaii Department of Education. She is excited about her new role and looks forward to meeting students and families. Mrs. McDonald is a parishioner at Nativity Parish and lives with her husband and two girls. She enjoys traveling and cooking in her free time.
Mrs. Kristen Quinlan-Boyce
Pre-Kindergarten Aide
Mrs. Quinlan-Boyce joins our Pre K staff as an Instructional Aide. She has worked as a substitute teacher, a tutor for math and language arts in elementary grades and special education. A native of the area, she loves to spend time with her family, her husband who is in the Marine Corps, and her two amazing daughters. She is looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Ms. Maeve Randall
Seventh Grade ILA Teacher
Maeve Randall is a devoted Catholic and first time teacher who previously worked as a Pre-Kindergarten Aide. She is currently working on her Master of Education degree with a concentration in English/Secondary Education at George Mason University where she has completed clinical experience teaching in middle and high school classrooms. In her free time, she enjoys reading, knitting, cooking, drinking tea, and talking with friends. Her passion for teaching Language Arts comes from the drive to serve Christ by teaching His children and a love of literature. She looks forward to the wonderful year ahead and hopes to inspire her students to spread the faith and grow in their love of literature.
Miss Alison Rowan
First Grade Instructional Aide
Miss Rowan is joining our First Grade staff as an Instructional Aide. She earned her Associates Degree from Northern Virginia Community College. She is a native of the Washington DC area and in her free time she likes to ice skate, dance, swim, and sing. Over the summer Miss Rowan worked at a summer camp as an assistant counselor.
Mrs. Caroline Stansberry
Kindergarten Teacher
Mrs. Stansberry is the newest member of our Kindergarten teaching staff. She is excited to return to The Basilica School of Saint Mary after spending the past four years teaching second grade at a Catholic all-boys school in New Orleans, Louisiana. Previously, Mrs. Stansberry (then Ms. Lang) taught third grade at The Basilica School and is also an alumna. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters of Elementary Education from Marymount University. Mrs. Stansberry is excited to return to Northern Virginia with her husband and two small children.
Ms. Megan Toth, RN
Nurse
Ms. Toth is excited to join the St. Marys community as the school nurse. She grew up in this area, attended Paul VI High School and James Madison University where she earned her degree in public health. She then continued her education at Shenandoah University and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Ms. Toth is coming to us from the Neonatal ICU at INOVA Fairfax. In her free time she loves hiking and running with her yellow lab Charli, reading, playing golf, and going to F45.
Ms. Grace Warren
Fourth Grade Teacher
Ms. Warren is a recent graduate of The Catholic University of America with a degree in Elementary Education. She is thrilled to join our community, mainly because it has been an important part of her family history. Her grandparents were married at St. Mary's Church in 1964. Last year, Ms. Warren taught English as a second language to third and fourth-grade students in Madrid, Spain. Ms. Warren enjoys reading, traveling, museums, and running outdoors during her free time.
