Board Members
Sarah Lyle, President
Sarah Lyle will be serving as the President of the HSA Board. Sarah and her husband, Brian, have been parents at St. Mary’s for over nine years. Their oldest child graduated last year. Their youngest child will be in fifth grade. Sarah has served on the board for many years—most recently the past two years as the HSA Treasurer.
Outside of the Basilica School community, Sarah is the President & CEO of an organization dedicated to preventing damage to underground utility infrastructure. She also volunteers her time at the Basilica and serves as a coach for local youth sports. In her free time, she enjoys watching her children play competitive sports, playing golf and travelling.
Stephanie Dolan, Vice President
Stephanie Dolan is the proud mom of three Saints - Jack, entering 4th grade; Eleanor, a rising 1st grader; and Charlotte, who joins her older siblings at St. Mary’s next year as a half-day Pre-K classmate. Stephanie has been an involved member of the St. Mary’s church and school community for many years, previously serving as Families-in-Service Chair (2021-2022, 2022-2023), Room Parent (2023-2024), and classroom volunteer for field trips. HSA is important to Stephanie and the community; it helps foster relationships among school families and the partnership with the school to enrich the students’ experience.
Joseph Young, Treasurer
Joseph Young began his career in wealth management in 2004. As a Senior Director for the Mid-Atlantic Region, he oversees four wealth management offices in addition to serving as a Senior Wealth Advisor to the firm’s high net worth clients. Joseph is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and the Mercer Advisors Investment Committee. Prior to joining Mercer Advisors, he worked at Merrill Lynch as a portfolio manager and senior wealth advisor. He holds dual Master’s degrees in Finance and Business Management from Johns Hopkins University and is a Certified Financial Planner. Joseph lives in Alexandria with his wife and three children.
Jen Syzmanksi, Secretary
Jen Szymanski is excited to serve as the HSA Secretary for the 2024-2025 school year at Saint Mary's, bringing five years of active involvement in the HSA, including roles as Health and Wellness Chair and Community Development Chair. She is committed to fostering community spirit and enhancing communication within the school. Jen has also volunteered in the school library since 2019 and is the proud parent of a 5th grader, Christopher. In addition to her work with the HSA, Jen is a registered dietitian and owner of Vitality Led Health, specializing in functional medicine nutrition. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercising, cooking, and spending quality time with her family.
