American Heritage Girls

Available to: Girls ages 5-18

American Heritage Girls (AHG) is a Christ-centered fellowship opportunity for girls ages 5-18. Its mission is:

"Building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country."

AHG troops work toward this mission by practicing its 6 program emphases plan:

Social Development

Girl Leadership

Life Skills Enhancement

Character Development

Teamwork/Confidence Building

Spiritual Development

There are 5 Squad levels offered in AHG:

Pathfinders (at least 5 years old)

Tenderhearts (at least 6 years old)

Explorer (at least 9 years old)

Pioneer (at least 12 years old)

Patriot (at least 14 years old.

Mom's/Parents/Guardians are asked to join this family-friendly and faith-based scouting experience as well. One of AHG's mottos is, "There is a role for everyone" as we emulate living Gospel values by supporting our families, community, church and school, troop and country.

At St Mary, our Troop is "VA 0325." We selected this Troop number to honor the Annunciation (whose feast day is 3/25 each year) and as a constant reminder to emulate Our Lady's "Yes" to God in our own daily lives.

Meetings are held twice per month, in the evenings, at the school. At meetings we enjoy earning badges, doing service projects and having "Spirit Nights" (evenings of games and crafts).
