Photographs from the November 22nd Ceremonial Groundbreaking

Phase II Construction kicked off on Monday, November 22nd, with a school-wide Ceremonial Groundbreaking and Blessing. This special occasion brought the student and faculty community together with leading school parents, alumni, parishioners, and friends of the school to celebrate the next phase of a $13.7M campus transformation begun in 2019. The program for the special ceremony included Mrs. Luechtefeld leading everyone in the first verse of the beloved hymn Immaculate Mary, Prayers of the Faithful delivered by members of the Student Council, and words of gratitude from Mr. Cinalli and Father Hathaway. The formal program ended with all the students enjoying a special "Dirt Cake" and the 8th grade students posing for groundbreaking photographs. These photographs will be placed in a special "time capsule" to be installed during the foundation construction for the new library media center. (Jenifer Morris, Photography)

Reflections from a Grateful Alumnus, Win Sheridan

Win Sheridan,1985 graduate and member of the Mary Lead Us Campaign Executive Committee, joined in the festivities with school parent Farrell Wilkins and his parents Ted and Sally Sheridan, along with retired faculty member Mary Casey and her daughter Molly Duffy.

Sheridan, a business leader and entrepreneur, prolific philanthropist, and avid promoter of children’s health and well-being through sports, has made a gift of $500,000 to the Mary Lead Us Campaign to support the transformation of The Basilica School of Saint Mary’s back parking lot into a multi-use sports area. Sheridan hopes that his gift will inspire other Basilica School alumni to join in and support the Mary Lead Us Campaign. Click here to listen to a special podcast recording of Mr. Sheridan’s alumni experience at The Basilica School of Saint Mary.
