The Basilica School of Saint Mary is a parish school within the Diocese of Arlington, operating under the auspices of the Office of Catholic Schools. We are a fully-accredited school through the Virginia Catholic Education Association.
The Basilica School of Saint Mary educates the whole child by promoting spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical development in a nurturing, Catholic setting. We challenge each student to attain their fullest potential while developing a true sense of self-esteem founded in a solid Catholic curriculum. Students are summoned to develop their God-given potential. The curriculum at our school is designed and outlined by the Diocese of Arlington Office of Catholic Schools.
BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE
In 2009, The Basilica School of Saint Mary, then named St. Mary Catholic School, was honored as one of 314 schools nationwide that received the Blue Ribbon School designation. The nationally-funded Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors schools that are models of excellence, that demonstrate a strong commitment to educational excellence for all students, and that achieve high academic standards. Blue Ribbon Schools are selected by the Department of Education to serve as models for all schools throughout the nation.
